Welcome

...to the 23rd Scandinavian Hand Society Meeting in May 2010 hosted by the Swedish Society for Surgery of the Hand (SHF) and the Swedish Society for Hand Rehabilitation (SFH). We have chosen a very special location for this meeting, and the month of May is a perfect time to visit Gotland. You will be able to experience the ancient atmosphere of the medieval town of Visby, as well as the flourishing nature of Gotland with its numerous flowers, orchids and birds.

The meeting starts on Wednesday May 26 with an opening reception and proceeds with scientific lectures and papers on Thursday and Friday.  We have invited international guest speakers such as Jesse Jupiter from USA, Zsolt Szabo from Hungary, Sarah Mee from UK and Monika Samuelsson, Jan Fridén and Göran Lundborg from Sweden. Leiv Hove from Norway is invited as the Erik Moberg lecturer. The programme will comprise of free papers, panel discussions and a session addressing the needs of younger doctors and residents. In the afternoons, the programme will be separated for surgeons and therapists.

On Saturday the 29th you will be able to explore the wildlife of Gotland; sightseeing with bird-watching, flower excursions and shopping (handicrafts, pottery etc.) will be offered.

The meeting venue is a newly built Congress Hall (Wisby Strand) facing the Baltic Sea and within walking distance from all hotels and hostels. A generous exhibition hall is used for booths and coffee breaks.

Gotland is easily reached with daily flights from Stockholm or ferryboats from Nynäshamn and Oskarshamn.

We cordially invite therapists and hand surgeons from all over Europe. We also invite companies and spouses to participate in the meeting and to experience the unique scenery of Gotland!

Hope to see you at the SSSH and SFH Hand Meeting in May 26 - 29, 2010!
